A tour at Nantes Motorcycle Village.

On Thursday the 30th of November, two classes studying motorcycle mechanic went to Orvault to visit Nantes Motorcycle Village.

Nantes Motorcycle Village is an important place for Western France passionate bikers. Every year, several students from our school do their internships or their apprenticeships in the village.

First, we were received by Mister Renac ( general manager), Mister Guilois (Susuki-KTM and Royal Enfield concessionary manager), Mister Phelippeau (Honda and Nantes Moto concessionary manager) and Mister Loiseau (the workshop manager). They showed us the different sites where 9 famous brands are located : Honda, Susuki, Kawasaki, Triumph, KTM, Indian, Royal Enfield, CF Moto Nantes, Kymco and Hyosung.

Then, Mister RENAC described the values of the company and explained why they are very important to create the team spirit of the village : solidarity and kindness between the employees, adaptability and responsability are some of these values.

We split into two groups for a visit of the different concessionaries. We learnt that each brand uses its own specific tools. Each brand trains its employees to work with specific equipment or tools. We could see that the employees’ workplaces were tidy and well-organized. We also visited the tyres stockroom : it is the unique area for the entire village. We could recognize famous brands like Dunlop, Michelin or Continental.

We found this visit very interesting : we discovered and learnt how this big company works, its expectations for future interns or apprentices and also the specific features of the famous motorbike brands.
